Why Christian Education

The mission of Lakeland Christian School is to educate students in the light of God’s Word to equip them for a lifetime of learning, 领导, 服务和敬拜.

As you make decisions regarding the education of your children, remember that these decisions are among the most important and influential ones that you will make as a parent. During their school years, your children will not only be learning math, English and science; they will be forming friendships, 价值s and worldviews. That is why a Christian education is so important. We want our students to learn to view every aspect of life and learning from a biblical perspective.

At Lakeland Christian School, our mission is to serve as an extension of the Christian home and as a partner with the local, evangelical church in the Christian education of children. Through biblical integration in the classroom, weekly chapel time and the influence of our faculty, 员工和教练, the Christian 价值s that our students learn at home can be reinforced and internalized by the time they walk across the stage and receive their diplomas.

We have been at LCS now for 13 years. I am amazed at how well my oldest (now a senior) is prepared for college. And the everyday Christian influence is like no other. Today we hear stories of what goes on in the public system, and we are blessed to have the highest level of education and the constant influence of Christian faculty.

It is very simple for us. Our children attend LCS because we are confident that those leading and teaching our children (teachers, 管理员, 教练, 等.) share our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and our desire to live a life that honors Christ and points others to Him. While academic excellence, extracurricular opportunities and athletics are important, the bottom line for us is knowing that those we allow to influence our children are partnering with us, not teaching anything contrary to our faith.

We 价值 the Christian-based education that instills not only principles and 价值s in our children but also instructs them on worldviews and how to support their viewpoints. We like the freedom that teachers and 管理员 have to develop positive relationships with our children and encourage them in all areas of their lives. We especially like that prayer is taught and encouraged. We are thankful for the level of education our children are receiving and the quality people who provide it!

I send my daughter to LCS primarily because of the Christian worldview that permeates all aspects of the school – from academics to arts to sports to administration. I greatly appreciate the Christian character of the teaching and administrative staff and am impressed with their commitment to excellence and their longevity at the school. I am also very appreciative for the wonderful facilities and wide breadth of choices available for children to develop their God-given gifts and talents.
